Conveyance allowance of physically challenged teachers of Primary Schools under different District Primary School Councils including Kolkata and Siliguri Primary School Councils and G.T.A.
It has been brought to the notice of the Government that some of the Primary teachers under different District Primary School Councils and G.T.A., who are physically challenged are not getting conveyance allowance for some reason or the other. The physically challenged Primary Teachers include orthopedically handicapped individuals with minimum of 40% permanent partial disabilities of either upper or lower limbs or together and blind Primary teachers.
In terms of G.O. no. 39-SE(Law) dated 14.01.2021 the amount of such conveyance allowance is 5% of basic pay subject to a maximum of Rs. 800/- per month w.e.f. 01.01.2020.
He is requested to release such allowance on a regular basis in favour of all such Primary teachers and who are in possession of valid certification of their disability indicating at least 40% permanent partial disabilities of either upper or lower limbs or together and blindness in case of Primary teachers.
In all other cases where such teachers are not getting conveyance allowance due to lack of certification from competent authority, the concerned District Inspector of Schools (PE) may be requested to take proactive steps in consultation with the designated medical authority, so that their conveyance allowance can be introduced or resumed, as the case may be, at the earliest.
He is also requested to send numbers of the eligible beneficiaries and those who are not getting conveyance allowance at present.
