All schools in West Bengal will be closed from Tuesday(20/04/2021). The state education department has taken this decision as the corona infection is on the rise. Government schools in the state are starting summer vacation from Tuesday. This holiday will last indefinitely(until further instructions). A notification in this regard has been issued on Monday(19/04/2021) afternoon. Schools were closed for about 9 months last year due to the Covid situation. Schools were reopened in February this year as the Covid situation came under some control. However, only the students of class IX to XII were taking classes following the rules of Covid. Teachers and staff had to come to school regularly. But since March the situation has been getting worse. The rate of corona infection has intensified.
