Medical leave rules and conditions for Employees/teachers in west bengal


👉Any teacher can take Medical Leave for personal illness.

👉Employees will receive 15 days of medical leave for one year.
Formula:
Suppose a teacher has been in employment for "N"  years since joining.
So his total medical leave=(N-1)×15

However, there is an upper limit to medical Leave according to different types of teachers(Primary/upper/HS).

Primary Teachers can take maximum 180  days of medical leave until retirement.



👉No medical leave available for 1 year  from the date of joining.

👉The number of medical leave  will be added to the service book.

👉Medical Leave can be affixed or prefixed with long holidays, puja vocation, summer vocation.(But does not apply to casual leave).

👉Medical leave is not an employee's right, like other holidays.

👉No medical certificate will be required if a teacher takes medical leave for 3 consecutive days.But if a teacher takes medical leave for more than 3 consecutive days, it is necessary to have a medical certificate.
The teacher has to get a medical certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner.

👉The number of medical leave of a teacher will depend on the days of illness in the medical certificate.

👉 After taking leave, a teacher must apply for joining when attending school.And submit a medical certificate.

If the ML began before a lock down period during Covid Pandamic. Do the days of lockdown will be suffixed with the leave?
