Calculate of Gratuity as per ROPA 2019

I will discuss Gratuity in this blog. Before determining the formula of gratuity, we will know what the rule of gratuity was before and what is the rule now. According to DCRB 1971 and DCRB 1974, the maximum gratuity rule was = (Last Basic Pay +DA) ×15. The question is why is it multiplied by 15?  According to DCRB 1974, the 6 months service period of qualifying service of an employee is calculated as 1 unit and his 1 year qualifying service is 2 units.  As per DCRB 1974 Maximum Qualifying Service will be 30 (in case of Gratuity) and maximum Units of Service will be 60.  Gratuity is maximum Units of Service One-fourth (1/4) i.e. 60÷4=15 times.  So multiply by 15 in the above formula. It was then notified through a Revised Order of DCRB 1974 {of which G.O No.  5225-F dt.  07.06.1976} Maximum Qualifying Service (in case of Gratuity) has been increased from 30 to 33.  As a result, the maximum Units of Service has also increased from 60 to 66. ...

Pension Commutation as per ROPA 2019

Image
I will discuss Pension Commute in this blog. Commutation of Pension is a part of Basic Pension. Pension commutation is started as per West Bengal service rules'1983, the effective date of which is 01.01.1981. After that, the rules of this commutation have changed repeatedly. In DCRB 1981, it is said that according to the Pension Commuted Rate of the Government, the employees have to do Pension Commute and at that time the Pension Commute Rate was One-Third (1/3). And it is said that commutation can be done in case of any Pension (Retiring and Superannuation) and a chart is given according to the commutation value given in that chart the commutation value which will be from the next birthday of retirement of an employee should be multiplied by 12. Later G.O. No. 297-SE(B) {dt. 23.12.1994} amended to say that commutation of pension can be applied for before retirement. Earlier it was said that Basic Pension Commute can be done by One-third(1/3), but ROPA 98 G.O no. 123-SE(B) {...

Types of Pension   Compensation Pension   When a permanent post is abolished, the employees in that post are forced to retire.  Compensation Pension is given to those employees. Invalid Pension Invalid Pension is paid if an employee retires due to infirm or unhealthy, physical or mental weakness. Superannuation Pension   Employees are given Superannuation Pension if they retire on time due to old age i.e. according to the service conditions.  Superannuation Pension is the pension that an employee gets when he retires at the age of 60 years.  Minimum qualifying service for superannuation pension should be 10 years.  In this case, it should be remembered that if he retires at the age of 60 years according to the service rules, then he should not leave the service voluntarily, in this case his pension should be calculated. Retiring Pension If someone wants to retire after 20 years...
