Guidelines for reopen school in West Bengal

 The school was reopened in West Bengal from 7th to 12th class from 7th February but Paray shikshalaya was introduced for students from pre-primary to 7th class. Controversy over this Paray shikshalaya program started from different angles.

Earlier, Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said that primary schools and upper primary schools should be reopened.




Finally, on 14 February, the Department of Education issued an order stating that all schools would be reopened from 16 February.





The following order has been issued by the West Bengal Education Department to reopen the school…..






Sub: Reopening of schools under School Education Department

The competent authority in the Government of West Bengal has decided to re-open schools on campus for the students of all classes of primary and upper primary schools including

SSK/MSKs with effect from 16.02.2022 repeat from 16.02.2022 maintaining all COVID norms and protocols. You are requested to guide the process closely for smooth reopening of the schools

in your District. I would suggest the following:


A) You are requested to nominate ADM (Education) as Nodal Officer for reopening of the schools in your District. He may be advised to take all necessary measures for smooth reopening of reach schools within your District strictly following extant COVID protocol.Dls (SE) concerned have been advised from this end to contact ADM (Education) and remain in touch with your office for immediate further necessary action.


B) Suitable steps be taken immediately for cleanliness of the schools and making them functional forthwith.


C) All teaching and non-teaching are hereby allowed to attend the campus with effect from 15.02.2022 ic tomorrow.


D) Hostels may be opened wherever necessary as decided by the concemed Hols, strictly maintaining safety and CVD norms.


E) Relevant Academic guidelines would be issued by the Boards.


F) A 'CVD-19 General guidelines on Re-opening of Schools in the form of Advisory is enclosed for necessary circulation to all concerned.


G) Cooked Mid-day-meal to be served to all students attending the classes. Necessary arrangements may be made by 15.02.2022.


H) You are requested to keep SPs/CPs in your district informed with a request to render assistance at the field level as and when needed.


I) Consequently upon opening of the schools of all classes Paray-Shikshalay' will be discontinued wef. 16.02.2022.


J) Dr. A.N.Biswas, IAS, Commissioner School Education , Shri Subhn Chakraborty. IAS, SPD SSA and Shri T. K. Adhikari,PD MDM shall be the concerned Nodal Officers at the State level for the respective purpose. In case of any further clarification; you may get in touch with me or them any time.


Guidelines for reopen Primary school in West Bengal

On 14th February, the West Bengal Board of Primary Education issued a notification with guidelines for reopening primary schools.

The notification is as follows …




In compliance with the Order of the School Education Department, Govt. of W.B. (Vide Memo No. 41-SSE/2022 dated 14/02/2022) All heads of the Schools/Institutions are hereby notified that all classes of primary schools shall reopen with effect from 16/02/2022 from Monday to Saturday in a week maintaining all Covid norms and protocols.

  • Suitable steps shall be taken immediately for cleanliness of the schools and making them functional by 15/02/2022 positively.

  • Students of each class shall report half an hour prior to normal school hours.

  • All classes of primary schools will be held following Covid Protocols and safety norms.

  • All teaching staff will attend the campus with effect from 15.02.2022.

  • Hostels may be opened wherever necessary as decided by the concerned schools, strictly maintaining safety and Covid norms.

  • IT MUST BE MENTIONED HERE THAT ALL SCHOOLS MUST BE PROPERLY SANITIZED.

  • MUST MAINTAIN ALL COVID-19 PROTOCOLS DURING SCHOOLS DAYS i.e. WEARING OF MASK FOR ALL STUDENTS AS WELL AS THE TEACHING STAFF OF THE SCHOOLS,SOCIAL DISTANCING etc. 

  • ALSO PROPER AWARENESS MAY BE CREATED AMONG STUDENTS/GUARDIANS ABOUT NORMS OF COVID-19 PROTOCOL.
