Stay order of recruitment of Primary TET 2014
In the run-up to the 2021 Assembly elections, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had planned to alleviate the anger of the youth over unemployment by appointing primary teachers. But in reality, the opposite picture was captured. Once again, the state Government is going to get a big push in the court with the appointment of teachers.
Primary Tet 2014 appointment suspended by the court! Primary TET 2014 has faced multiple allegations of irregularities in recruitment. The Hon'ble Calcutta High Court has stayed the appointment of Primary TET 2014. A single bench of Rajarshi Bharadwaj on Monday stayed the appointment. The stay order will remain in force till the case is settled. Several candidates approached the court alleging publication of an opaque merit list. One of the issues that the plaintiffs have complained to the court about is that no merit list has been published for recruitment. Only those who have been considered for recruitment can go to the online website and see if they have succeeded with their own roll number. However, as per the rules, the board should disclose the names, roll numbers, complete list of job seekers including all the information obtained from TET and interview numbers. The board has issued seven notices on two consecutive holidays. Many of these notifications contain contradictory content, as well as ample opportunity to make opaque allegations, the plaintiffs' lawyers argued in court.
The court said that Candidates who have already received appointment letters will not be effective now. The board will be able to take the next step after the case is settled. The Hon'ble Justice asked the Board to submit an affidavit to the court within four weeks. According to the court's order, there was no possibility of the recruitment process ending before the assembly elections. Needless to say, the impact this is going to have on the election.
Many lawyers think that many job seekers will lose their jobs if the allegations of opacity are proved. It remains to be seen what the court will decide in the end.
