Organization of Reading Festival at Primary level School

Madam/Sir,

In connection with the above subject, you are requested to inform all the primary level schools (School management code 1,2,3,12,15,90,97) to organize a Reading Festival at school premises where parents and community may be invited to exhibit the learning and reading skills of the children. The activities and duration of the Reading Festival to be decided and designed by the children themselves with the help of teachers.


In the Reading Festival, children are encouraged to design and decide on a variety of activities in the form of games related to reading books, words, crosswords, storytelling, skit, poems which can be exhibited in the Festival. It will help children to build skills and gain confidence, as well as cultivate an appreciation for the world around them and foster creativity and critical thinking. In this process, children will be able to develop the zeal to learn and create activities and at the same time express the joy of reading in the schools in which teachers, parents and the community may also be involved.


List of Activities may be as follows:


  • Story reading / Story telling / Recitation by the children, selected from each of the grades.


  • Enactment of stories by a single child / group of children.


  • Storytelling / reading by community members / parents / guests.

  • Extracted part of any read text from the main text book may be displayed for louder reading on which competition may be held among the children. 

  • All the parents, teachers from nearby schools, children & workers of adjacent ICDS centres, members of MTA/ VEC/ SMC, Siksha Bandhus and local Educational Administrator ,Inspector of Schools may be invited to the programme.




An amount of Rs.1000/ (One thousand) may be utilized for organizing the Reading Festival in each school. Financial support may be incurred from LEP( Learning Enhancement Programme) head of Samagra Shiksha budget.

Home District transfer for primary school teacher

______________New Update_______ Intra and inter District Transfer list The first list of all the primary teachers who have applied for transfer to The Commissioner of School Education in Bikash Bhavan since last December, 2021 has been published. The instructions in this list are as follows: "The Undersigned is directed to inform that the School Education Department in principle has no objection to the inter/intra district transfer of the Primary School Teachers as included in the attached list(s). The concerned authorities are hereby requested to take necessary action accordingly. In case of any discrepancy, the Chairpersons of the District Primary School Council and the District Inspectors of Schools (Primary Education) shall bring it to the notice of the School Education Department. Uniform Distribution on Banglar Shiksha Portal

  School Hol Login for Uniform SCMS on Banglar Shiksha Portal In the School Hol login, there would be 'Uniform SCMS' menu at the left menu panel clicking upon which following type of dashboard would appear. Hol in respect of Upper Primary / Secondary / Higher Secondary Schools has the responsibility to issue work orders in favour of concerned SHG and update the status of the same in the online system. Click on the 'Work Order Issued' tab. List of all tagged SHGs would be available therein.  Then click on 'Submit' button in respect of the concerned SHG for which work order has been issued to update the status as 'Yes'. Following type of screen would appear in this regard. After getting delivery of the school uniforms, concerned Hol of Upper Primary / Secondary / Higher Secondary School has the responsibility to acknowledge the same in the online system. Merit list of SSC SLST 9-10 and 11-12

Merit list of SSC SLST 9-10 The School Service Commission (SSC) has published the revised merit list for the appointment of SLST 9-10 teachers on the orders of the Calcutta High Court.  The merit list was released on the Commission's website on Thursday evening.  The High Court had set a deadline of July 15 for the publication of this merit list.  The list has been published following that instruction.  Incidentally, in 2018, the process of recruitment of SLST IX-X teachers started.  About 11,800 vacancies were filled in seven counselling sessions.  However, the merit list published by the commission at that time did not include the name, ethnic identity and rank of the candidate.  Some of the candidates on the waiting list had filed a case in the Calcutta High Court challenging that.  Following the case, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay directed the SSC to publish the merit list with names and numbers. A notice regarding e-pension has been published on the iOSMS portal of the Government of West Bengal.This notice mentions the method of how retired teachers will get the benefit of e-pension.I posted that notice below. If there is/are any improper medium(s), please select that/those medium(s) (one by one) and then select the class, section, subject (any) and click on Search button; student's/students' name will be available in the list against the particular medium.
