Interim Budget Education, 2021

 Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee presented the interim budget in the assembly today. Hon'ble Chief Minister is presenting the interim budget in accordance with the rules of the state government. Hon'ble Chief Minister is presenting the budget due to the illness of Finance Minister Amit Mitra.

Hon'ble Chief Minister has made several announcements on school education and salary increase. Here are some important announcements of the Hon'ble Chief Minister in the budget:


  • The state government will set up 100 new English medium schools for Scheduled Castes, Indigenous and Disadvantaged people. In the next three years, 100 English medium schools will be set up in the areas where the number of Scheduled Castes, Indigenous and Disadvantaged people is high. For this, it has been proposed to allocate RS 50 crore in the next financial year.


  • 500 new schools and one and a half thousand para teachers will be recruited for Alchiki language. This will be done in the next 5 years. 100 crore has been allocated for this in the next financial year.


  • 100 new schools will be set up in Nepali, Hindi, Urdu, Kamatapuri and Kurmali languages. For this 300 para teachers will be appointed. Rs 50 crore has been allocated for this.


  • The Chief Minister has proposed to set up 100 Sadri language schools in the next five years in the tea garden area. For this 300 para teachers will be appointed. Rs 50 crore has been allocated for this.


  • The government will approve 200 Rajbangshi language schools and provide financial assistance. For this, Rs 50 crore has been allocated in the next financial year.


  • There are some madrasa schools which are government approved but do not get financial help. Rs 50 crore has been allocated to provide financial assistance to them.


  • Today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made a big announcement about the salaries of para-teachers and contract teachers. The Chief Minister made a big announcement in this year's interim budget regarding the salaries of para and contract teachers. The salary of para-teacher and contract teachers will be increased at the rate of 3 percent per annum. The Chief Minister announced to allocate Rs 100 crore to increase the salaries of para-teachers.


  • One of the surprises in today's budget is the announcement to provide tabs to the students of class XII every year. In her budget speech, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, “From next financial year, tabs will be given to nine lakh and twelve class students of the state every year. This project has been named 'Youth Dream'. This humane decision belongs to the state so that the students do not fall behind due to scarcity.
