Aadhaar Enrolment of School Students

 Aadhaar card numbers of all students are not updated in Banglar Shikha Portal and School Education Department has taken initiative to generate Aadhaar card for all students who have not yet generated Aadhaar card as per district wise survey data.


Nine lakh students in West Bengal schools do not have Aadhar card. Therefore, the state government has taken the initiative to create Aadhaar card for those students. The Education department has issued a notification on 19/09/2023. According to that notification, the work of making Aadhaar card for students will start step by step from Wednesday, September 20. At least two camps will be set up in each block. Aadhaar cards of students from first class to higher secondary will be generated in those camps.


SDOs and BDOs have been asked to cooperate in organising Aadhaar camps. It has been informed that in those camps which cannot be organised from Wednesday, the work of making Aadhaar card should be started by organising the camp as soon as possible. Apart from government schools, private school students can also get Aadhaar card generated in these camps.


Police officials of various police stations have also been directed to be alert to handle the law and order situation in organising these camps. Besides, the officials in charge of organising the camp have also been directed to inform the local police administration about the matter. Eight in Alipurduar district, 12 in Bankura district, two in Barrackpore subdivision, eight in Birbhum, seven in Cooch Behar, 16 in South Dinajpur, two in Darjeeling, six in Hooghly, 20 in Howrah, two in Jalpaiguri, 10 in Jhargram, four in Kalimpong, 14 in Malda. , 21 in Murshidabad, 11 in Nadia, 23 in North 24 Parganas, one in West Burdwan, 25 in West Medinipur, 16 in East Burdwan, 35 in East Medinipur, 17 in Purulia, one in Siliguri, 12 in South 24 Parganas and four in North Dinajpur.


The explanation of the administrative circles, now the funds are directly given to the students' bank accounts for various schemes of the state government. It is mandatory for students to have Aadhaar card to get these facilities. That is why the Education Department recently conducted a survey on whether students have Aadhaar card or not. According to Bikash Bhavan sources, after receiving the report of the survey, the state has taken initiative to create Aadhaar cards for the students by conducting a camp.

I am directed to inform you that the Aadhaar enrolment of students by the School Education Department from Primary to Higher level is going to start from 20th September 2023, In this regard, it has come out through a survey that about 9 lac. students across the state are not having Aadhaar and require enrolment. The School Education Department has taken endeavour to provide two centers per block. However, due to different technical reasons, some no. of centers (enclosed) in your district are ready for operation from 20.09.2023. Rest of the centers are expected to be operative in a few days.

All concerned SDOS/BDOS under your jurisdiction may kindly be advised to supervise and render help as and when needed to complete the process, SPS/CPs may kindly be advised to keep local police station informed to avoid any untoward incident.
