Teachers' movement demanding transfer
Jhargram to Paschim Medinipur Teacher Transfers' Movement
Most of the teachers in Jhargram have not been transferred to their own block or municipality even after the announcement of Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in 2019. No teacher was transferred from Jhargram to West Midnapore. However, teachers have been transferred from Jhargram to other districts.Primary teachers of Jhargram approached the West Midnapore DPSC on Tuesday(10th November) demanding immediate transfer. Earlier, they had submitted Deputation to Jhargram. But they did not get any response from Jhargram DPSC. So, they went to submit the Deputation to Medinipur DPSC.
At present there is no chairman in West Midnapore DPSC. However, the primary school inspector Tarun Sarkar is temporarily handling the chairmanship. The teachers went to him on Tuesday(10th November) to submit the deputation demanding transfer. Since the teachers did not have any permission to meet him beforehand, he did not meet with the teachers. As a result, the primary teachers protested in front of the office and went back. The teachers said that they will come to meet again with permission.
Surajit Mahato, a teacher working in Jhargram, said,
"Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that teachers will have the opportunity to transfer to their areas. Why are they being deprived there? This deputation is to demand our immediate transfer to West Midnapore. "
The agitating teacher Surajit Mahato told Hawk Info Channel that they will meet the Chairman of DPSC in West Midnapore again on 24th November and submit the Deputation for transfer.
He invited all the teachers who want to transfer from Jhargram to West Midnapore to come to Midnapore on 24th November.
He is expanding the organization through whatsapp group and Telegram group. Many teachers have promised to be by his side.
